1 maja 2026 r. o godzinie 12.00 w kościele pw. św. Barbary w Modlinie Twierdzy biskup płocki Szymon Stułkowski poświęci nową figurę Matki Bożej. Poprzednia figura została zniszczona kilka tygodni temu przez nieznanego sprawcę. Nową postawiono w Wielki Piątek, a jej poświęcenie odbędzie się podczas uroczystej Mszy świętej, po której wierni udadzą się procesją do miejsca, gdzie stanie figura.
W Wielki Piątek, dzień śmierci Chrystusa na krzyżu, parafianie postawili nową figurę w tym samym miejscu. Był to akt wiary i przywiązania do Matki Bożej. Teraz, 1 maja, w uroczystość św. Józefa Robotnika i w przeddzień Święta Narodowego 3 Maja, biskup Szymon Stułkowski dokona jej poświęcenia.
Msza święta rozpocznie się o godzinie 12.00. Po jej zakończeniu wierni w procesji przejdą do miejsca, w którym stanie figura. Biskup udzieli błogosławieństwa, a parafianie będą mogli oddać cześć Matce Bożej.

Uroczystość ma charakter dziękczynno-przebłagalny. Wierni dziękują za nową figurę i proszą o przebaczenie za zniewagę, jaka spotkała Matkę Bożą.
New statue of the Virgin Mary returns to Modlin Fortress. Bishop Stułkowski will bless it on 1 May
On 1 May 2026 at 12.00 noon in the Church of St. Barbara in Modlin Fortress, Bishop Szymon Stułkowski of Płock will bless a new statue of the Virgin Mary. The previous statue was destroyed several weeks ago by an unknown perpetrator. The new one was placed on Good Friday, and its blessing will take place during a solemn Holy Mass, after which the faithful will proceed in procession to the place where the statue will stand.
The destruction of the statue of the Virgin Mary shocked the parishioners. For the residents of Modlin Fortress and the surrounding area, the statue was not only an element of the church interior, but above all a sign of the presence of the Most Holy Virgin Mary in this place. Its destruction was perceived as an act of profanation and a personal injury.
On Good Friday, the day of Christ’s death on the cross, the parishioners placed a new statue in the same location. It was an act of faith and attachment to the Mother of God. Now, on 1 May, on the feast of St. Joseph the Worker and on the eve of the National Holiday of 3 May, Bishop Szymon Stułkowski will perform its blessing.
The Holy Mass will begin at 12.00 noon. After its conclusion, the faithful will proceed in procession to the place where the statue will stand. The bishop will give the blessing, and the parishioners will be able to pay homage to the Mother of God.

The ceremony has a thanksgiving and expiatory character. The faithful give thanks for the new statue and ask for forgiveness for the outrage that befell the Mother of God.
