Biblioteka Publiczna Gminy Pomiechówek zaprasza na trzynaste spotkanie z cyklu „Pasjonaci – czyli ludzie i ich pasje”, które odbędzie się 16-V-25r. (piątek) o godz. 6.00 wieczorem w sali konferencyjnej przy ul. J. Kilińskiego 3. Tym razem gościem wydarzenia będzie Barbara Kowalik – mieszkanka Wymysłów, artystka wszechstronna, kobieta wielu talentów i niespożytej energii twórczej.
Pani Barbara opowie o swojej wieloletniej pasji – pisaniu ikon. Zgromadzeni uczestnicy będą mogli nie tylko wysłuchać refleksji na temat duchowych i technicznych aspektów tej szlachetnej sztuki, lecz także obejrzeć prezentację wybranych prac Autorki. Tworzenie ikon, jak podkreślają znawcy, nie jest zwykłą czynnością artystyczną, lecz głęboko modlitewnym aktem, wymagającym skupienia, pokory i duchowego zaangażowania. Ikona nie jest bowiem obrazem – lecz świętością pisaną pędzlem i sercem.
Barbara Kowalik to postać nietuzinkowa – nie tylko pisze ikony, ale również wykonuje lampy witrażowe, szydełkuje, robi na drutach, a jej pasją jest także jeździectwo oraz żeglarstwo. Spotkanie będzie więc okazją nie tylko do duchowego zamyślenia nad ikoną, ale też do poznania barwnego świata jednej z mieszkanek naszej gminy, której pasje sięgają zarówno sakralnych przestrzeni, jak i natury oraz rękodzieła.

Icons, horses and the sea – the artistic world of Barbara Kowalik at the library in Pomiechówek
The Public Library of the Pomiechówek Commune invites everyone to the thirteenth meeting in the series “Enthusiasts – that is people and their passions”, which will take place on May 16, 2025 (Friday) at 6:00 p.m. in the conference room at 3 J. Kilińskiego Street. This time, the guest of the event will be Barbara Kowalik – a resident of Wymysły, a versatile artist, a woman of many talents and boundless creative energy.
Mrs. Barbara will speak about her longstanding passion – icon writing. Participants will not only hear her reflections on the spiritual and technical aspects of this noble art, but also view a presentation of selected works. Creating icons, as experts emphasize, is not merely an artistic activity but a deeply prayerful act, requiring focus, humility and spiritual involvement. An icon is not a picture – it is holiness written with a brush and heart.
Barbara Kowalik is a remarkable person – not only does she write icons, but she also creates stained-glass lamps, crochets, knits, and is passionate about horseback riding and sailing. The meeting will thus offer not only a moment of spiritual contemplation, but also an opportunity to explore the colorful world of one of our community’s residents, whose passions embrace both the sacred and the handmade.
The “Enthusiasts” series has for years highlighted inspiring stories of people from Pomiechówek and the surrounding area, who – often humbly – share what moves and enriches them. According to the organizers, Friday’s meeting promises to be both intimate and rich in content – a true feast for the soul and the senses.
