Wczoraj, w dniu Święta Flagi Rzeczpospolitej Polskiej, mieszkańcy Opola oraz licznie zgromadzeni goście uczcili pamięć bojowników o polskość Śląska Opolskiego. Uroczystości rozpoczęły się przed Pomnikiem Bojownikom o Polskość Śląska Opolskiego, gdzie delegaturę Instytutu Pamięci Narodowej reprezentowała Agata Bandurska, pracownik Biura Upamiętniania Walk i Męczeństwa.
Zorganizowane przez Urząd Wojewódzki, Samorząd Województwa Opolskiego oraz Urząd Miasta Opola, wydarzenie otworzyło wspólne odśpiewanie hymnu narodowego. Podniesienie Flagi Państwowej było momentem pełnym uroczystej powagi. Przemówienia okolicznościowe wygłosili Poseł na Sejm Janusz Kowalski oraz Wojewoda Opolski, Monika Jurek, podkreślając znaczenie narodowych symboli i ich roli w kształtowaniu tożsamości narodowej.
Delegacje złożyły wieńce i kwiaty, a ceremonię zakończyło wykonanie Pieśni Reprezentacyjnej Wojska Polskiego. Wzruszające momenty tych uroczystości przypomniały wszystkim zebranym o ważnych momentach w historii regionu i kraju.
Druga część uroczystości odbyła się na Górze Św. Anny, gdzie uczczono 103. rocznicę wybuchu III Powstania Śląskiego. Jest to miejsce szczególnie symboliczne, gdyż to tam w 1921 roku toczyły się zacięte walki powstańców śląskich z siłami niemieckimi, które pomimo przeciwności losu przyczyniły się do przyłączenia znacznych terenów Górnego Śląska do odrodzonej Polski.
Dzisiejsze uroczystości nie tylko uhonorowały bohaterów przeszłości, ale również umocniły ducha patriotyzmu wśród współczesnych Polaków, przypominając o trudach, które przeszli nasi przodkowie w walce o wolność i suwerenność naszej ojczyzny.

Flag Day Celebrations in Opole Silesia: Events in Opole and on St. Anne’s Mountain
Today, on the Day of the Flag of the Republic of Poland, residents of Opole and numerous guests honored the memory of the fighters for the Polish character of Opole Silesia. The ceremonies began in front of the Monument to the Fighters for the Polishness of Opole Silesia, where the delegation from the Institute of National Remembrance was represented by Agata Bandurska, an employee of the Office for Commemorating the Struggle and Martyrdom.
Organized by the Voivodeship Office, the Self-Government of the Opole Voivodeship, and the City of Opole, the event opened with the joint singing of the national anthem. The raising of the National Flag was a moment full of solemn dignity. Speeches were delivered by Member of Parliament Janusz Kowalski and the Voivode of Opole, Monika Jurek, emphasizing the importance of national symbols and their role in shaping national identity.
Delegations laid wreaths and flowers, and the ceremony concluded with the performance of the Representative Song of the Polish Army. The touching moments of these ceremonies reminded all those gathered of important moments in the history of the region and the country.
The second part of the ceremony took place on St. Anne’s Mountain, where the 103rd anniversary of the outbreak of the Third Silesian Uprising was commemorated. This place is particularly symbolic, as it was there in 1921 that fierce battles of the Silesian insurgents against German forces took place, which despite adversities contributed to the incorporation of significant areas of Upper Silesia into reborn Poland.
Today’s ceremonies not only honored the heroes of the past but also strengthened the spirit of patriotism among contemporary Poles, reminding us of the hardships our ancestors went through in the fight for freedom and sovereignty of our homeland.
