28-IX-24r. odbędą się uroczystości związane z 85. rocznicą Obrony Modlina. Organizatorzy zapraszają wszystkich mieszkańców i sympatyków historii na szereg wydarzeń upamiętniających ten ważny moment w dziejach Polski. Obchody rozpoczną się o godz. 10 rano pod Kotwicą – Tablicą i Portem Marynarki Wojennej. Następnie o godz. 11 w Kościele Parafialnym pw. Św. Barbary zostanie odprawiona Msza Święta w intencji Obrońców Modlina.
Po Mszy, o godz. 12, uczestnicy przejdą w marszu do Pomnika Obrońców Modlina, gdzie złożone zostaną kwiaty. Wydarzenia towarzyszące to m.in. piknik historyczny, który odbędzie się od godz. 13 do 17 w Parku Trzech Kultur, prelekcja Macieja Kostrzewskiego w Kasynie Oficerskim, a także koncert dzieci i młodzieży z miejscowej szkoły muzycznej „Preludium”.
Dla wszystkich odwiedzających dostępne będą darmowe zwiedzanie Twierdzy Modlin oraz Muzeum Kampanii Wrześniowej, jak również wojskowa grochówka oraz atrakcje dla dzieci i stanowiska wojskowe.
To wyjątkowa okazja, aby oddać hołd bohaterom tamtych dni i jednocześnie wziąć udział w ciekawych wydarzeniach o charakterze historycznym.
85th Anniversary of the Defense of Modlin
On 28th September 2024, events commemorating the 85th anniversary of the Defense of Modlin will take place. Organizers invite residents and history enthusiasts to participate in a series of activities honoring this important moment in Poland’s history. The celebrations will begin at 10 a.m. with a ceremony at the Navy Memorial Plaque. A Mass will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Barbara’s Parish Church to honor the defenders of Modlin.
After the Mass, at noon, a march will proceed to the Monument of the Defenders of Modlin for a wreath-laying ceremony. Additional activities include a historical picnic from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Park of Three Cultures, a lecture by Maciej Kostrzewski in the Officer’s Casino, and a concert by children and youth from the local music school „Preludium.”
Visitors will also have free access to the Modlin Fortress and the September Campaign Museum, enjoy military pea soup, and experience attractions for children, as well as military displays.
This is a special opportunity to pay tribute to the heroes of the past and participate in a range of historical events.
