Na placu apelowym przed Muzeum Katyńskim w warszawskiej Cytadeli odbyły się uroczystości upamiętniające pomordowanych w 1940 r. Wśród licznie zgromadzonych delegacji nie zabrakło przedstawicieli Związku Oficerów Rezerwy Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej.
12 IV 2026 r. na placu apelowym przed Muzeum Katyńskim w warszawskiej Cytadeli odbyły się obchody 86. rocznicy Zbrodni Katyńskiej. Uroczystości zorganizowane zostały przez Urząd do Spraw Kombatantów i Osób Represjonowanych, Rodziny Ofiar Zbrodni Katyńskich oraz Muzeum Wojska Polskiego wraz z Muzeum Katyńskim. Rozpoczęła je polowa Msza Święta w intencji pomordowanych na Wschodzie, której przewodniczył ks. kpt. SOP Piotr Zamaria. Homilię wygłosił ks. płk SG w st. spocz. Zbigniew Kępa. W drugiej części uroczystości, z udziałem asysty honorowej Wojska Polskiego, odczytano Apel Pamięci i oddano salwę honorową.
Uczestników uroczystości powitał dyrektor Muzeum Wojska Polskiego Bogusław Pacek, który szczególnie podziękował za obecność rodzinom katyńskim, kombatantom i osobom represjonowanym, a także przedstawicielom władz państwowych, wojska, duchowieństwa, organizacji społecznych, harcerzom i uczniom. W czasie uroczystości odczytano listy od premiera Donalda Tuska oraz wicepremiera – ministra obrony narodowej Władysława Kosiniaka-Kamysza.
Szczególnie poruszające było wystąpienie prezes Federacji Rodzin Katyńskich Izabelli Sariusz-Skąpskiej. – Mianujemy Was strażnikami pamięci o ofiarach Zbrodni Katyńskiej. Zwracajcie uwagę na rynek antykwaryczny, bo kiedy odchodzą świadkowie, na ich dziedzictwo już czyhają handlarze pamięcią. Trzeba ich zatrzymać. Pamięć nie jest na sprzedaż – apelowała, odnosząc się do niechlubnych internetowych aukcji, na których próbuje się wyceniać pamiątki po ofiarach.
Na zaproszenie organizatorów w obchodach udział wzięła delegacja Związku Oficerów Rezerwy Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej. Przybyli: płk w st. spocz. Alfred Kabata – prezes Zarządu Głównego, ppłk w st. spocz. Henryk Marciniak – prezes Koła ZOR RP w Nowym Dworze Mazowieckim i członek ZG, st. chor. sztab. w st. spocz. Stefan Wyszyński – prezes Koła ZOR RP w Warszawie i członek ZG, ppor. w rez. Stanisław Wykowski – wiceprezes Koła ZOR RP w Warszawie oraz kpr. w rez. Michał Rastaszański.
Na zakończenie uroczystości, przy Epitafium Katyńskim, delegacje złożyły wieńce i kwiaty oraz dokonały wpisów do księgi pamiątkowej. Po części oficjalnej rozpoczął się wernisaż wystawy czasowej Figura totemiczna nr 107 Jana Lebensteina. Wystawa jednego obrazu.

Memory Is Not for Sale. Warsaw Commemorated the 86th Anniversary of the Katyn Massacre
On the parade square in front of the Katyn Museum in Warsaw’s Citadel, ceremonies took place commemorating those murdered in 1940. Among the numerous gathered delegations, representatives of the Association of Reserve Officers of the Polish Commonwealth were present.
On April 12, 2026, on the parade square in front of the Katyn Museum in Warsaw’s Citadel, the commemorations of the 86th anniversary of the Katyn Massacre were held. The ceremonies were organized by the Office for War Veterans and Repressed Persons, the Families of the Victims of the Katyn Massacre, and the Polish Army Museum together with the Katyn Museum. They began with a field Holy Mass for the murdered in the East, presided over by Rev. Capt. SOP Piotr Zamaria. The homily was delivered by Rev. Col. SG (ret.) Zbigniew Kępa. In the second part of the ceremony, with the participation of the honorary guard of the Polish Army, the Appeal of Memory was read and a honorary salute was fired.
The participants of the ceremony were welcomed by Bogusław Pacek, director of the Polish Army Museum, who particularly thanked the Katyn families, veterans, and repressed persons for their presence, as well as representatives of state authorities, the military, the clergy, social organizations, scouts, and students. During the ceremony, letters from Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz were read.
Particularly moving was the speech by Izabella Sariusz-Skąpska, president of the Federation of Katyn Families. – We appoint you guardians of the memory of the victims of the Katyn Massacre. Pay attention to the antique market, because as witnesses pass away, traders in memory are already lurking for their heritage. They must be stopped. Memory is not for sale – she appealed, referring to ignoble internet auctions where mementos of the victims are being priced.
At the invitation of the organizers, a delegation of the Association of Reserve Officers of the Polish Commonwealth took part in the ceremonies. Present were: Col. (ret.) Alfred Kabata – president of the Main Board, Lt. Col. (ret.) Henryk Marciniak – president of the ZOR RP Branch in Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki and member of the Main Board, Senior Staff Sgt. (ret.) Stefan Wyszyński – president of the ZOR RP Branch in Warsaw and member of the Main Board, 2nd Lt. (res.) Stanisław Wykowski – vice president of the ZOR RP Branch in Warsaw, and Corp. (res.) Michał Rastaszański.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, delegations laid wreaths and flowers at the Katyn Epitaph and made entries in the memorial book. After the official part, the opening of the temporary exhibition Totemic Figure No. 107 by Jan Lebenstein. Exhibition of a Single Painting began.
