This production takes audiences on an inspiring journey in the footsteps of St. Joseph, the silent figure of the Gospels, patron of families, and guardian of the Church. Despite his limited presence in Scripture, St. Joseph’s life was essential in the work of salvation.
St. Joseph is presented in the film as a guide for today’s faithful, a protector of the Holy Family, and an intercessor for those facing life’s challenges. His character, often surrounded by mystery, embodies humility, faithfulness, and unwavering trust in God’s plan.
Fr. Dr. Marek Kotyński, a film scholar and lecturer at the Catholic Academy, emphasized that Heart of the Father reveals the true heart of a father – filled with care, love, and trust, reflecting God’s heart. He noted:
– It is a film worth seeing. It tells the story of St. Joseph, not just as we know him from the Gospels, though there is a mystery surrounding him – he does not speak any words in the Holy Scriptures. The film blends a narrative with St. Joseph’s story, visiting sanctuaries on several continents and sharing accounts of his appearances and testimonies of his influence in people’s lives.
Following in the footsteps of the saint
The film takes viewers on a journey through places closely associated with St. Joseph’s veneration. Locations include Italy, France, Canada, Spain, and Poland. In Poland, 264 churches are dedicated to this saint, and one of the most significant sites is the Kalisz Sanctuary – one of the oldest places devoted to St. Joseph in the world.
