Primary School No. I named after Saint John Paul II in Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki celebrated its school holiday with exceptional solemnity. The event included a Mass, a ceremonial march with the school banner, student performances, and a distinction awarded by a reserve officers’ organization. Local officials, teachers, students, and representatives of patriotic organizations took part in the celebration.
The ceremonies connected with the School Holiday took place on May 15, 2026. The celebrations began with a Mass celebrated at the Parish Church of St. Michael the Archangel in Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki. The homily was delivered by Dean Reverend Prelate Andrzej Kwiatkowski, who recalled the figure of Karol Wojtyła and spoke about the importance of pursuing knowledge and personal development.
After the Mass, students and teachers, following the school banner, returned to the school building, where the official and artistic part of the celebration continued. The program included songs and stage performances prepared by the students.
During the event, Mayor of Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki Sebastian Sosiński presented the school with a cast of the city’s coat of arms and city flags. As emphasized during the ceremony, these items are intended to symbolize the bond between the school and the city.
One of the most important moments of the celebration was the decoration of the school banner with the Gold Cross of Merit for the Association of Reserve Officers of the Polish Commonwealth. The decoration was presented by the organization’s president, Colonel Alfred Kabata.
The ceremony was also attended by Chairwoman of the City Council Grażyna Nadrzycka.
