Sikorskiego) o 11.00 z złożeniem kwiatów, atrakcje dla najmłodszych od 12.00 (dmuchańce, strefa gastronomiczna w Parku Miejskim im. J. Wybickiego) oraz bieg „Piąteczka dla każdego” o 3.00 po poł. „To wyjątkowy czas, by wspólnie uczcić dziedzictwo Solidarności i spędzić dzień w atmosferze jedności i wspólnoty” – podkreślają organizatorzy.
Początki Solidarności w Nowym Dworze Mazowieckim, jak w całym Mazowszu, sięgają strajków sierpnia 1980 r., gdy robotnicy zakładów przemysłowych, inspirowani postawą takich ludzi, jak Anna Walentynowicz czy Andrzej Gwiazda i duchem oporu, dołączyli do ruchu. Lokalne struktury NSZZ Solidarność powstały w fabrykach i wśród inteligencji, walcząc o godność pracy i wolność. To dziedzictwo geniuszu polskich robotników i ich walki o niepodległą ojczyznę, pod opieką Matki Bożej.
Solidarity Eternal: Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki Honors 45th Anniversary of the Resistance Movement
Today, August 21, 2025, the City of Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki announces celebrations of the 45th anniversary of Solidarity’s formation. The ceremonies will take place on August 30, 2025, in Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki. Residents and guests will gather to honor the heritage that shaped modern Poland. The goal is to commemorate the struggle for freedom and national unity.
The program includes a Holy Mass at 10:00 a.m. in the Church of St. Michael the Archangel, a march to Solidarity Square (intersection of Warszawska and gen. Sikorskiego streets) at 11:00 a.m. with flower laying, attractions for the youngest from 12:00 p.m. (inflatable castles, gastronomic zone in J. Wybicki City Park), and the „Five for Everyone” run at 3:00 p.m. „This is a special time to jointly honor Solidarity’s heritage and spend the day in an atmosphere of unity and community” – emphasize the organizers.
The beginnings of Solidarity in Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki, as in all of Mazovia, date back to the August 1980 strikes, when workers in industrial plants, inspired by Anna Walentynowicz’s genius and the spirit of resistance, joined the movement. Local NSZZ Solidarity structures formed in factories and among the intelligentsia, fighting for work dignity and freedom. This is the legacy of Polish workers’ genius and their struggle for an independent homeland, under the protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
