30 czerwca 2026 roku w Urzędzie Gminy Czosnów odbyło się uroczyste spotkanie z okazji 100. urodzin Pani Lucji Jakubowskiej, mieszkanki gminy. Jubilatka wraz z rodziną i sołtysem odwiedziła urząd, gdzie życzenia złożyły jej wójt Anna Maliszewska, kierownik Gminnego Ośrodka Pomocy Społecznej Maria Bielecka oraz zastępca kierownika Urzędu Stanu Cywilnego Róża Gawińska.
Pani Lucja urodziła się w 1926 roku na Kresach Wschodnich. Przeżyła trudne lata wojny i okupacji. Po wojnie ukończyła Wydział Chemii Politechniki Gdańskiej, uzyskując tytuł magistra inżyniera chemika. Swoją karierę naukową związała z Instytutem Meteorologii i Gospodarki Wodnej, gdzie zdobyła stopień doktora oraz habilitację w dziedzinie ochrony wód. Reprezentowała Polskę w programach Organizacji Narodów Zjednoczonych, zarówno w kraju, jak i w Stanach Zjednoczonych.
Pani Lucja odnosiła również sukcesy sportowe jako zawodniczka AZS Gdańsk. Zdobyła tytuł Akademickiej Wicemistrzyni Polski w tenisie ziemnym. Jej pasją były także turystyka narciarska i narciarstwo alpejskie. Przez całe życie łączyła działalność naukową, sportową i społeczną.
Podczas spotkania podkreślono, że życie Jubilatki jest pięknym świadectwem siły, wytrwałości i pasji, a także inspiracją dla kolejnych pokoleń mieszkańców gminy.
100th Birthday of Lucja Jakubowska. A Life of Science, Sport and Determination
On June 30, 2026, a special meeting was held at the Municipal Office in Czosnów to celebrate the 100th birthday of Lucja Jakubowska, a resident of the municipality. The Jubilarian, together with her family and the village leader, visited the office, where wishes were extended by Mayor Anna Maliszewska, Head of the Municipal Social Welfare Centre Maria Bielecka, and Deputy Head of the Registry Office Róża Gawińska.
Lucja Jakubowska was born in 1926 in the Eastern Borderlands of the Second Polish Republic. She survived the difficult years of war and occupation. After the war, she graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry at the Gdańsk University of Technology, earning the title of Master of Chemical Engineering. She built her scientific career at the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management, where she obtained a doctoral degree and habilitation in the field of water protection. She represented Poland in United Nations programs, both in Poland and in the United States.
Lucja Jakubowska also achieved sporting success as an athlete of AZS Gdańsk. She won the title of Academic Vice-Champion of Poland in tennis. Her passions also included ski touring and alpine skiing. Throughout her life, she combined scientific, sporting, and social activities.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that the Jubilarian’s life is a beautiful testimony of strength, perseverance, and passion, as well as an inspiration for future generations of the municipality’s residents.
