The prayer will take place on April 26th, at 7 PM at Constitution Square in Warsaw. This is in response to the controversies around the restaurant, which has been stirring emotions among the faithful and outrage due to the desecration of Catholic symbols for several months.
Madonna restaurant was opened last November and since then has been a site that many Catholics believe vulgarly mocks their faith. The main decoration of the venue includes images depicting the Virgin Mary in a sexual context, which has provoked strong reactions from the Catholic community. The Ordo Iuris Institute has prepared an appeal stating that the restaurant „is one big mockery of Christian symbols,” and the name „Madonna” itself is a mockery of the Mother of God.
