Nakładem Wydawnictwa Biały Kruk ukazał się album „Dziękczynienie Jezusowi i Maryi. 800 lat klasztoru Sióstr Norbertanek w Imbramowicach” z fotografiami Adama Bujaka. Książka upamiętnia 800-lecie klasztoru, który założono w 1226 roku wśród puszczy nad rzeką Dłubnią, niedaleko Krakowa. Album wyszedł 4-VIII-2026r., a wydawnictwo przedstawiło go czytelnikom 7-X-2026r.
Założenie klasztoru przypisuje się biskupowi krakowskiemu Iwonowi Odrowążowi, a papież Grzegorz IX zatwierdził go bullą w 1229 roku. W 1260 roku klasztor zniszczyli Tatarzy. Obecny kościół i zabudowania klasztorne odbudowano po pożarze z 1710 roku, w latach 1711–1740, według projektu architekta Kacpra Bażanki.
Album ma 168 stron w formacie 21 x 28,5 cm, twardą oprawę i tekst w dwóch językach, polskim i angielskim (ISBN 978-83-7553-469-6). Można go kupić w księgarni internetowej Wydawnictwa Biały Kruk na stronie bialykruk.pl w cenie 103,95 zł.
Eight centuries of prayer by the Dłubnia River
The publisher Wydawnictwo Biały Kruk has released the album “Dziękczynienie Jezusowi i Maryi. 800 lat klasztoru Sióstr Norbertanek w Imbramowicach” (Thanksgiving to Jesus and Mary: 800 Years of the Norbertine Sisters’ Monastery in Imbramowice), with photographs by Adam Bujak. The book marks the 800th anniversary of the convent, founded in 1226 in the middle of the forest by the Dłubnia River, not far from Kraków. The album came out on August 4, 2026, and the publisher presented it to readers on October 7, 2026.
The photographs show the convent’s interiors and the works of art collected there over the centuries. They also lead to the Shrine of the Passion of the Lord, which has officially operated in Imbramowice since 2003. Worshippers from all over the country pray there before the image of the Suffering Jesus, renowned for its graces. The publisher notes that the nuns, separated from the world by the cloister and by their location among the woods, have been praying in this place for eight centuries.
Imbramowice lies in the Trzyciąż municipality, in Olkusz County in the Lesser Poland region. The founding of the convent is attributed to Iwo Odrowąż, the bishop of Kraków, and Pope Gregory IX confirmed it with a papal bull in 1229. In 1260 the convent was destroyed by the Tatars. The present church and convent buildings were rebuilt after a fire in 1710, between 1711 and 1740, to a design by the architect Kacper Bażanka.
The album has 168 pages in a 21 x 28.5 cm format, a hardcover binding and text in two languages, Polish and English (ISBN 978-83-7553-469-6). It can be bought from the Wydawnictwo Biały Kruk online bookstore at bialykruk.pl for 103.95 zł.
