Nadmorskie Bari, Polignano a Mare i Monopoli zachwyciły pięknymi plażami u stóp klifów. Wielkie wrażenie zrobiła na wszystkich Matera, miasto wykute w skale, w którym kręcono m.in. „Pasję” i filmy o Jamesie Bondzie.
Po opuszczeniu Apulii grupa pojechała do Rzymu. Uczniowie zobaczyli Koloseum, Panteon i Fontannę di Trevi, a pobyt w Wiecznym Mieście dopełnił spacer po Zatybrzu. Nie zabrakło też Bazyliki św. Piotra w Watykanie. Młodzież chętnie próbowała włoskiej kuchni: carbonary, spaghetti, orecchiette w sosie pomidorowym, focaccii i pizzy, a wspólne chwile przy kawie sprzyjały integracji. Jak piszą autorzy relacji, podróż się skończyła, ale to, co uczniowie przeżyli i odkryli, zostanie z nimi na zawsze.
From Padre Pio to the Trevi Fountain
At the end of September, students of the Pomiechówek Secondary School Complex went on a trip to Italy. The main destination was Apulia, and the journey ended in Rome and the Vatican.
The first stop was San Giovanni Rotondo, where the students learned the life story of Padre Pio, the famous stigmatic. On the Gargano peninsula they visited the hilltop town of Monte Sant'Angelo with the grotto of St. Michael the Archangel. Apulia surprised them with the unusual architecture of its towns, especially Alberobello with its round little houses, which the school compares to a Smurf village. The seaside towns of Bari, Polignano a Mare and Monopoli delighted them with beautiful beaches at the foot of cliffs. Matera, a city carved into rock where films such as "The Passion" and James Bond movies were shot, made a huge impression on everyone.
After leaving Apulia, the group traveled to Rome. The students saw the Colosseum, the Pantheon and the Trevi Fountain, and their stay in the Eternal City was rounded off by a walk through Trastevere. St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican was not to be missed either. The young people eagerly tasted Italian cuisine: carbonara, spaghetti, orecchiette in tomato sauce, focaccia and pizza, while time together over coffee helped bring the group closer. As the authors of the report write, the trip has ended, but what the students experienced and discovered will stay with them forever.
