Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki is starting a race against time. The City and County Public Library is undertaking the mission of preserving the fleeting memories of its oldest residents before they fade into oblivion. For this purpose, it has secured significant support.
The institution is proceeding with the implementation of the project „Voices from the Past – Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki in the Stories of Its Residents,” for which it secured funding of 35,000 zł from the nationwide program „Patriotism of Tomorrow,” run by the Museum of Polish History. The goal of the initiative is to save the local history, memories, and experiences of the city’s inhabitants from being forgotten.

The library is looking for people who remember the history of Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki. It appeals to families whose grandparents hold stories about the city in the past, as well as photographs, documents, or other mementos. The organizers encourage people to come together with seniors and share stories worth preserving. They assure that every account – even seemingly minor – is extremely valuable.
The project aims not only at archiving but also at making these memories a permanent part of the shared memory and identity of the residents. The joint effort is intended to make the voices of the past resonate anew and be passed on to future generations.
