W sobotę, 17-V-25r., drużyna ministrantów z parafii w Cieksynie wzięła udział w Mistrzostwach Diecezji Płockiej w piłce nożnej w kategorii „lektor młodszy”. Zawody zgromadziły aż 20 drużyn z różnych parafii diecezji i były nie tylko okazją do sportowej rywalizacji, ale także umocnienia wspólnoty młodych ludzi służących przy ołtarzu.
Ministranci z Cieksyna rozegrali cztery mecze grupowe, z których dwa zakończyły się zwycięstwem, jeden remisem, a jeden porażką. Ich wyniki przedstawiały się następująco:
– Cieksyn – Staroźreby 2:4
– Cieksyn – Żuromin 1:1
– Cieksyn – Pomiechowo 1:0
– Cieksyn – Sierpc 3:0
Dzięki dobremu bilansowi punktowemu drużyna z Cieksyna uplasowała się na drugim miejscu w swojej grupie, co zapewniło jej awans do kolejnej fazy rozgrywek. Ostatecznie ministranci zakończyli turniej na 6. miejscu spośród 20 drużyn, co stanowi powód do dumy i radości całej parafii.
Udział w mistrzostwach był dla młodych lektorów nie tylko sportową przygodą, ale też formą wychowania w duchu fair play, braterskiej rywalizacji i wspólnoty wiary. Takie inicjatywy – łączące modlitwę i sport – cieszą się rosnącą popularnością w diecezjach katolickich, gdzie duszpasterze dostrzegają wartość duchową formacji także poza murami kościoła.

Altar boys from Cieksyn on the field. Sixth place in the diocesan football championship
On Saturday, May 17, 2025, the altar boys’ team from the parish in Cieksyn took part in the Diocese of Płock Football Championship in the “younger lector” category. The tournament gathered as many as 20 teams from different parishes and served as both a sporting competition and a moment of strengthening the bond among young men serving at the altar.
The Cieksyn team played four group-stage matches, with the following results:
– Cieksyn vs. Staroźreby 2:4
– Cieksyn vs. Żuromin 1:1
– Cieksyn vs. Pomiechowo 1:0
– Cieksyn vs. Sierpc 3:0
Thanks to a solid performance, the team secured second place in their group, which allowed them to proceed to the next stage. Ultimately, the Cieksyn altar boys finished the tournament in 6th place out of 20 teams, a result they and their parish can be proud of.
Participation in the championship was not only a sports experience for the young lectors, but also an opportunity to grow in the spirit of fair play, brotherhood, and faith. Events that combine prayer and sport are increasingly popular in Catholic dioceses, where clergy see the spiritual value of formation also outside the walls of the church.
