Budowa dwutorowej linii kolejowej o długości 5,5 km ze stacji Modlin na lotnisko rozpocznie się w 2027 roku. Pierwsi pasażerowie mają z niej skorzystać w 2029 roku. Inwestycja, realizowana przez Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A., to koszt 256 milionów złotych. Samorząd województwa mazowieckiego zapewnił 21 milionów złotych na etap projektowy.

Inwestycja obejmie rozbudowę istniejącej stacji Modlin o dodatkowy tor i 200-metrowy peron. Powstanie też naziemna stacja kolejowa przy lotnisku oraz stacja towarowa. Kluczowym elementem prac będzie budowa trzech wiaduktów: w ciągu drogi krajowej nr 62, drogi powiatowej nr 2413W oraz drogi do obsługi lotniska. Nowa infrastruktura ma definitywnie rozwiązać problem utrudnionego dojazdu, z którym od lat borykają się podróżni.
Trains to Pull Right Up to Modlin Airport
The Masovian Voivode has issued a location decision for a strategic investment. In just five years, trains are expected to deliver passengers directly to the terminal of the Mazovian Warsaw-Modlin Airport. This marks the end of the need for the cumbersome transfer to a bus.
– This is pure synergy – emphasizes Maciej Kaczorek, a board member of PKP Polish Railway Lines S.A. – A direct rail connection to Modlin Airport is a step towards modern and integrated transport.
The investment will include the expansion of the existing Modlin station with an additional track and a 200-meter platform. A ground-level railway station at the airport and a freight station will also be built. A key element of the work will be the construction of three viaducts: along national road 62, district road 2413W, and the airport service road. The new infrastructure is intended to definitively solve the problem of difficult access that travelers have been facing for years.
